Apple’s release new flagship phone arriving later this year. iPhone X is billed as “the future of the smartphone,” with the new revolution in recognition. Apple announced its new FaceID technology. It’s a new way to unlock your phone through facial recognition.
But these features will not happen without an intelligence processor chip inside iPhone X.
The Apple A11 Bionic chip is the brain of the iPhone X. The chip, known internally as the Apple Neural Engine, that Apple dedicated chip to Power AI on devices and bringing the power of AI to your hand.
The new A11 Bionic neural engine is a dual-core design and performs up to 600 billion operations per second for real-time processing. A11 Bionic neural engine is designed for specific machine learning algorithms and help speed AI tasks.
Artificial intelligence in your hand
AI has become increasingly central to smartphones, But to date, AI features on mobile devices have been mostly powered by the cloud. This way can save your phone’s battery power by not operate it’s from processor but it will not work if you are not connected to the internet and less secure because your personal data is sent off to far-away servers
Apple isn’t the only company to pursue this approach, leading tech companies already are battling to develop more powerful hardware for machine learning algorithms. Huawei put a similar “Neural Processing Unit” in its Kirin 970. Google already testing a new way of training its AI algorithms directly on your phone called “Federated Learning”. ARM has unveiled “DynamIQ” the chip that design focuses on AI and machine learning. Qualcomm developed “Neural Processing Engine” is a software development kit (SKD) that helps developers optimize their apps to run AI applications on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 and 800 series processors
In the future, mobile hardware that can run machine learning software efficiently and amplify mobile developer to do incredible way.
